Useful for a quick and dirty viewer, and sometimes tag editor. I use Photoshop for major editing, and Adobe Bridge for importing images.

Downloading photos from my digital camera throughout my recent vacation was as simple as could be in Vista, then using this I kept them organized and now can enjoy them. Honestly, I didn't use it prior, but Photo Gallery works beautifully.
I actually prefer the overall look and feel of this version over the Live version. Windows Live Photo Gallery feels very complicated with all the mouse rollover features and looks more suited to XP visually. The original that comes packaged with Vista is far more intuitive and simplified, just what I want from a Photo Gallery :)
If you use this, you should definetely try Windows Live Photo Gallery. The same base with more features. Download from http://photogallery.live.com
It's Windows Photo Gallery.
